For inquiry this term we are studying sound which is what we hear all around on a daily basis. Have you ever wondered what sound is? Well, this explanation will explain everything about sound and how it works.
The scientific process of sound begins once a material is hit, that material begins to vibrate. Sound travels through the sound wave in a high tone or a low tone. Depending on the pitch. The vibration continues to travel until it reaches your eardrum and sends a signal to the brain. Your brain then transfers it into a recognized sound. Sound initially starts from when an object is loudly hit but sometimes sound begins from power. If you turn on something from the plug like a speaker and it plays music, then the noise didn’t start from you hitting the material.
What would you think if there was no such thing as sound? Well I think that it would be really boring but simultaneously difficult because if you were trying to communicate with the person next to you, you wouldn’t be able to hear them. Instead, you would have to text, write on a piece of paper or use sign language subsequently if there was such thing as sound and there is, you could just talk to them.
You could conduct sound experiments to help increase your knowledge about how sound works. For example, the whispering cups experiment. You could find three different types of strings and test out which string would be best of use to be able to hear the other person's voice from your cup.
